Listening to Cola by Toro Y Moi (and you should be too)

And I like it a lot. Pitchfork says nice things, Gorilla vs. Bear has been hyping him for like a year, and the needle drop is already over him. I  say - these sounds are so good, and I love the way they are put together, and I love the way that the instruments sound so good and he sings so good over the top of them.

Lana Del Rey X Clams Casino - Born to Die Remix

Alright. So, SNL definitely took the wind out of Lana Del Rey's sails a bit. Maybe she's not quite ready for the unforgiving limelight of live television performance. Free MP3 Download: Georgia Anne Muldrow and Madlib - Seeds

Word is, Madlib has produced the entirety of Georgia Anne Muldrow's new album, Seeds If this first single is any indication of what's to come, I'm even more excited than I usually am when a new Madlib project surfaces. Psychedelic soul is the buzzword that's been getting thrown around with this first single, and it seems pretty spot on as a way of describing it. So, without further ado, here is an MP3 link, courtesy of Rolling Stone, that will allow you to download the song for free a month or so before the single drops on digitally iTunes and on 7" through Fat Beats. Don't even kid yourself, just download it. I only made it playable as a formality. Madlib always deserves a permanent place in your library.

All the women are scheming, all the men are carrying, and no one ever remembers what they did last night. Download it right here. It's the third record that he has released for free during what might be the most impressive viral publicity campaign to date. Dig it.

New Video from Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa - Young, Wild and Free

I feel like I was the last person to find out to find out that this record was released. I saw their first video for the movie soundtrack BUT I didn't even know this thing had a release date yet. Still, it is here, and it came out a full week ago. Check out this video for "Young, Wild and Free," then find the whole, glorious album, Mac and Devin Go to High School. It's just great seeing two rap stars distill a profound love and respect for Cheech and Chong into musical form. They sound like they're having a great time, and it's a blast to listen to (even if it might seem so carefree that it's inconsequential). There's a Curren$y feature on there too, so you can't really go wrong.

With an album cover that flatters the Flaming Lips in the highest fashion...

...and a sound that won't disappoint those hoping to hear equal doses of hip hop and psychedelic pop. This really is a wonderful album. It's a rap album for fans of trippy, psychedelic rock, but it doesn't make any sacrifices to build that bridge. I'm rambling here, but come on - haven't you always wanted someone to spit fire over a Flaming Lips sample? I thought so. Check it out. As usual, there's a free download available.

Read no more! What more is there to say? Grayson Currin, the author of this eh-he-sure-is-great-but-I-just-can't-resist-criticizing-it review, would likely disagree with my decision to ignore his poetic deconstruction of the album along with his carefully calculated score. However, I urge you to follow  my example and just enjoy the first sentence - not to mention the music.
