Free Mixtape: Gucci Mane - Trap Back
This came out a while ago, but honestly, I just started to really dig on this mixtape by Gucci Mane. I think it's one of the best of the year, so far. It's tagged, but DJ Holiday is relatively restrained here. The guestlist is solid, and the beats are stellar. Check this one out, people. It's the most inviting Gucci Mixtape in a long time.

Free Album Download: Hodgy Beats - Untilted EP
This record is notable not only for Hodgy Beats' frequent displays of emcee virtuosity but also for the fact that the songs Lately and Lamented were produced by Flying Lotus. I read in a Pitchfork article that Flying Lotus felt as though no one in the hip hop world was particularly interested in collaborating with him. Not everything on this tape is new, but there's enough new stuff to warrant adding it to your iTunes. Mike G is one of my favorite rappers from OF. So, I'm glad to have this tape to listen to until Gold drops sometime next year. Same airy, ambient beats. Same smirking, murderous lyrics. I've heard a lot of shit talking about Mike G in the blogosphere lately, saying he's having trouble distinguishing himself from the rest of the crew. That's just nonsense, if you ask me. He's got chops, and this is a good record. Check it out.
